Card making – Monday 16 Nov 2026 (book by Thursday 12 Nov)

Card making workshop

Handmade cards can often be more personal and appreciated more than shop bought ones. So why not come along to a relaxed workshop where you will have the chance to make your own. You can decide whether to make Christmas cards, birthday cards or any other celebration or event. We will be using stamps, papers and embellishments from our workshop stock, and you will have plenty of opportunity to use your imagination and creativity.

Patchwork using sewing machines – Monday 7 Dec 2026 (book by Thursday 3 Dec)

Patchwork workshop

This workshop is another chance to have a go at using up scraps of material. By sewing together smaller pieces of material, you create a larger piece that can be used for anything.  In this workshop, you will be shown how to patchwork pieces of material together and you can then decide how you would like to use them. In the past we have sewn beautiful tote bags and placemats, which we can do again, or create a table runner or a simple cushion cover. 

This workshop has limited spaces so that appropriate support can be given. Therefore, it is suitable for beginners or sewers that would like to try something different.

Rocking birds – 3D machine sewing – Monday 8 Feb 2027 (book by Thursday 4 Feb)

We have often created flat pieces of sewing, but now it is your chance to create a 3D item. This Rocking bird is very cute and involves both machine sewing and a little bit of hand sewing. Using the materials in our workshop, you can decide the colour and look of the bird. You will be given support from a tutor and you will also have the opportunity to use some of your own creative skills.

This workshop has limited spaces so that appropriate support can be given. Therefore, it is suitable for beginners or sewers that would like to try something different.

Jewellery making – earrings – Monday 22 Feb 2027 (book by Thursday 18 Feb)

Jewellery making workshop

Our workshop is bursting at the seams with jewellery making items, so this workshop is a great way of using some of it up and letting our creative side run riot. Guidance on the basics will be given but it will be up to you to decide what your earrings will look like. Will you make a pair for yourself or will you make some for your friends and family? A homemade gift is often more appreciated and treasured because a part of you is in it.

To book your place either phone and pay by debit / credit card or pop into the shop (Monday – Friday, 10am-3pm). Places must be booked by the Thursday before.

Thursday Skills Cafe

If you are not aware of this fabulous resource, there is a whole timetable of activities that you can take part in. The cafe is aimed at developing skills and knowledge across a wide range of topics. As with the Monday workshops, they are relaxed sessions where support is given and creativity is encouraged.
